The medical and health department of Andhra Pradesh has appointed superintendents to five government general hospitals (GGHs) on a full additional charge (FAC) basis, as per an order issued on Thursday.
Appointments Made by DME
Director of Medical Education (DME) Dr. A. Vishnuvardhan issued orders placing five senior faculty members in FAC roles as superintendents at Guntur, Kadapa, Eluru, Pulivendula, and Madanapalli GGHs.
Details of Appointments
- Guntur GGH: Dr. G. Durga Prasad, professor of radiation oncology at Guntur Government Medical College (GMC), has been appointed as superintendent.
- Kadapa GGH: Dr. K.B. Yadavendra Reddy, professor of general medicine at GMC Kadapa, has been given FAC as superintendent, effective from July 1, 2026.
- Eluru GGH: Dr. G. Symala, professor of anatomy at GMC Eluru, has been appointed as superintendent.
- Pulivendula GGH: Dr. G. Lakshmisha Kantha, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Pulivendula GMC, has been appointed as superintendent.
- Madanapalli GGH: Dr. Sk. Masoor Ahmed, associate professor of pediatrics at Madanapalli GMC, has been appointed as superintendent.
Reasons for the Appointments
The DME stated that these arrangements were made due to administrative requirements, representations from the concerned institutions, and other service-related developments. The officers have been directed to assume charge through their respective principals and ensure compliance with the orders.
