Lucknow: After enhancing infrastructure and deploying trained Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) teachers, the state government is now focusing on providing high-quality, child-friendly learning materials in Bal Vatikas across the state.
As part of this initiative, a comprehensive set of educational resources—including educator guides, Bal workbooks, textbooks, and progress cards—is being distributed. These teaching-learning materials (TLMs) are aimed at making learning engaging and activity-based, enabling children to begin their educational journey through play, storytelling, and creative expression, a government spokesperson said.
Officials stated that since early childhood education prepares children for formal schooling, the TLMs have been designed to ensure that learning remains natural, stress-free, and experience-driven, rather than academically heavy.
Aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) and NEP 2020, the content focuses on age-appropriate activities, simple language, and vibrant illustrations. It promotes holistic development, including cognitive, language, physical, and socio-emotional growth.
To ensure efficient distribution, the state has used QR code-based tracking and the ‘Kitab Vitaran App’, enabling real-time monitoring at the district, block, and Bal Vatika levels.
