Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Major Schemes for Teachers and Infrastructure

The Madhya Pradesh state cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, made several significant decisions during its meeting on Tuesday. These approvals cover a wide range of areas from education to infrastructure development.

Career Progression for Teachers

In a key move for educators, the cabinet approved the implementation of the Fourth Time Scale Scheme. This scheme provides assured career progression for assistant teachers, academic cadre teachers, and primary and middle school teachers of the new teaching cadre. Teachers who complete 35 years of service on or after July 1, 2023 will benefit from this initiative.

The government has allocated Rs 322.34 crore for this purpose. This decision aims to recognize and reward the long service of teachers across the state.

Expansion of Sandipani Schools

The cabinet also approved the establishment of 200 fully equipped Sandipani Schools in the second phase of the scheme. This project comes with an estimated expenditure of Rs 3,660 crore. These schools are expected to enhance educational infrastructure and provide quality education to students.

Infrastructure and Development Projects

Several infrastructure projects received cabinet approval. Keeping in view Simhastha–2028, the Ujjain city water augmentation scheme was approved at a cost of Rs 1,133.67 crore. This project aims to improve water supply in Ujjain.

Additionally, the cabinet approved Rs 898 crore for irrigation projects in Rajgarh and Raisen districts. These projects will support agricultural activities in these regions.

For urban development, the cabinet approved works including construction of master plan roads, major and other district roads, road safety improvements, urban traffic enhancement, 100% drinking water supply, sewerage systems, and sewage treatment plant construction. These priority works will address infrastructure gaps across the state.

Other Important Decisions

The cabinet made several other notable approvals. A compensation grant of Rs 90 lakh was approved for the family of deceased assistant sub-inspector of police Ramcharan Gautam.

To promote trade and commerce, the Council of Ministers approved a 50% rebate on motor vehicle tax on automobile sales at the Gwalior Trade Fair–2026 and Ujjain Vikramotsav Trade Fair–2026.

In the energy sector, the cabinet approved three solar-cum-energy storage power supply projects to meet the state's energy requirements. These projects will contribute to sustainable energy development.

Finally, the cabinet approved the implementation of the Madhya Pradesh SpaceTech Policy–2026. This policy aims to promote space-grade manufacturing in the state, considering the availability of 322 industrial parks, electronics manufacturing clusters, 31 GW power supply, excellent educational institutions, and a favourable ecosystem.
