PM Modi Disburses Rs 2,400 Crore Incentives Under PM-VBRY

Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed incentives totaling Rs 2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) during a special event held in New Delhi on Friday. The initiative aims to bolster employment opportunities for young people entering the workforce for the first time.

PM Modi Highlights Scheme's Impact

Addressing the gathering, Modi emphasized that PM-VBRY is more than just an employment scheme; it is a transformative initiative designed to strengthen the aspirations of youth while creating a strong link between industry and the workforce. He noted that this program uniquely supports both employees and employers, unlike many other schemes that focus on only one side.

The Prime Minister stated that the government stands firmly with young individuals beginning their professional journeys and encourages institutions that generate new employment opportunities. He highlighted that nearly 70 lakh new jobs have been created under the scheme so far, with an equal number of first-time employees brought under social security coverage.

Key Achievements Under PM-VBRY

Modi shared that close to 20 lakh young people have completed six months in their first jobs, and around 10 lakh beneficiaries have already received incentives upon reaching this milestone. More than Rs 2,000 crore has been directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts, reflecting the nation's recognition of youth hard work and confidence in their future.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the participation of institutions and enterprises that have generated employment under the scheme. He remarked, "Employment generation gains momentum when the government, industry, and youth work together. This initiative reflects a new India where young people receive opportunities, industries receive encouragement, and employment generation becomes a national mission."

Scheme Details and Benefits

PM-VBRY came into effect on 1 August 2025 and is designed to promote formal employment and incentivize job creation. Under Part A, first-time employees registered with EPFO and earning up to Rs 1 lakh per month are eligible for an incentive equivalent to one month's wage, up to Rs 15,000, paid in two installments.

Under Part B, employers generating additional employment can receive incentives of up to Rs 3,000 per month per additional employee for two years. Manufacturing sector employers are eligible for an additional two years of incentives, recognizing the sector's importance in driving employment growth.

With a total outlay of Rs 99,446 crore, PM-VBRY aims to facilitate the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years, with around 1.92 crore beneficiaries expected to be first-time workforce entrants.
