Uttar Pradesh Government Launches Intensive Drive for Complete Farmer Registration
The Uttar Pradesh government announced a major push on Thursday. State authorities set an ambitious target to achieve 100% farmer registration across all districts within the next 90 days. This initiative directly aims to guarantee that every eligible cultivator receives the full benefits of various government agricultural schemes.
Current Registration Status and District Leaders
Officials estimate that approximately 2.88 crore farmers need to be registered with the state. The campaign has already made significant headway. More than 60% of the target, which translates to over 1.75 crore farmers, have completed their registration.
Several districts are leading this effort with impressive completion rates. The top-performing districts include:
- Basti leads the state with 81.49% of farmers registered.
- Ghaziabad follows closely at 80.34%.
- Rampur has achieved 80.32% registration.
- Sitapur reports a rate of 79.73%.
- Firozabad stands at 79.59%.
- Other districts like Pratapgarh, Bijnor, Jaunpur, Pilibhit, and Auraiya also show strong progress, with rates ranging from 71.45% to 75.65%.
Directives from the Chief Minister and Implementation Plan
A government spokesperson provided details on the execution strategy. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued clear instructions to intensify the work of creating unique Farmer IDs. He mandated that progress must be reviewed on a daily basis. Officials must also develop a concrete work plan to ensure steady advancement toward the goal.
The spokesperson confirmed a critical deadline. The government will mandatorily create Farmer IDs for 100% of the beneficiaries under the PM Kisan Yojana by April 15, 2026. To meet the immediate 90-day target, district magistrates have received specific orders. They must personally review the registration progress every single day.
Verification Campaign and Its Impact
Parallel to the registration drive, a special verification campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has concluded. This effort verified a total of 2,48,30,499 PM Kisan beneficiaries across Uttar Pradesh.
District-level verification certificates were successfully issued in multiple regions. These include Ambedkar Nagar, Pratapgarh, Farrukhabad, Baghpat, Maharajganj, Mirzapur, Hardoi, Ayodhya, Ballia, Bhadohi, and Siddharthnagar.
The spokesperson highlighted the dual benefit of this verification. "This campaign enabled the administration to ensure timely benefits for eligible farmers and to exclude ineligible beneficiaries from the scheme," he stated. This step is crucial for streamlining the system and ensuring that support reaches the right hands.
The combined push for registration and verification represents a significant administrative effort. The state government is focusing on creating a comprehensive and accurate database of its farming community. The ultimate goal is to enhance the efficiency and reach of welfare schemes designed for India's agricultural backbone.
