Vadodara: The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Sunday filed a case under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC) against 12 members of the Lalu Sindhi gang.

Background of the Case

According to police, the gang members have committed more than 106 offences across various parts of the state. Gang leader Lalchand Khanani, alias Lalu Sindhi, is said to have 37 cases against him and has been booked under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) six times.

Arrests and Status

Of the accused, one has been arrested, four are already in jail, while the remaining members are still at large. Police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the fugitives.

Nature of Crimes

Police said the gang had been running an organized crime syndicate in the city for the past 10 years. It was allegedly involved in offences such as murder, extortion, dacoity, attacks on government servants, Prohibition Act violations, and Arms Act cases.

The filing of this case under GujCTOC marks a significant step in cracking down on organized crime in the region. The DCB has intensified its investigation to bring all accused to justice.
