Patiala: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Sanour, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, was remanded in four-day police custody on Thursday in connection with an illegal mining case registered against him at Julkan police station in Patiala district.
Background of the Case
Police had arrested Pathanmajra in March after he had been on the run for seven months in a rape case registered on September 1, 2025. Later, the police produced him in court on a production warrant and arrested him in the mining case. The illegal mining case was registered just four days after the rape case, on September 5, 2025.
Legal Proceedings
Pathanmajra's counsel, S S Saggu, stated that they will approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court to seek regular bail in the rape case. The MLA remains in custody as investigations continue.
