ACB Arrests Land Record Inspector in Jaipur for Alleged Bribery
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a land record inspector posted in the Jaipur West circle for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3.8 lakh. The bribe was reportedly demanded to facilitate the partitioning of a piece of ancestral land.
Details of the Arrest and Accused
The accused has been identified as Anil Kumar, who served as a land record inspector in the Jaipur West circle. He was apprehended red-handed during a meticulously planned trap operation conducted by the ACB. According to officials, the operation was set up after a formal complaint was lodged with the bureau.
Complaint and Allegations
Director General of ACB, Govind Gupta, stated that a complainant approached the bureau seeking assistance with the mutation of his ancestral land. The complainant alleged that Anil Kumar had demanded a total of Rs 5 lakh to process the necessary paperwork. Pressure was exerted on the complainant to make the payment, leading to the involvement of the ACB.
The ACB acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint, orchestrating a trap that resulted in the inspector's arrest while he was allegedly accepting Rs 3.8 lakh as part of the bribe. This case highlights ongoing efforts to combat corruption in land record and administrative processes in Rajasthan.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter to uncover any further details or potential accomplices. The arrest serves as a stern warning against corrupt practices in government offices, emphasizing the ACB's commitment to upholding integrity and transparency.
