A shocking incident of alleged murder stemming from a business dispute has rocked the transport community in the Agra-Firozabad region. A 50-year-old transporter was brutally beaten to death by his business partner and the partner's relatives in the early hours of Sunday, according to police reports.
Decades-Long Partnership Ends in Tragedy
The victim, identified as Balmukund Dubey, a transporter from Agra, had been in a business partnership with Gajendra Singh for nearly three decades. Their company, Jai Maa Bhavani Transport, operated with Balmukund managing the Agra office and Gajendra overseeing the Firozabad end of operations.
The fatal confrontation occurred around 4 am on Sunday at a godown in Firozabad. Balmukund, accompanied by his friend Shankar, had arrived to unload a truck carrying goods from Agra. It was at this location that Gajendra Singh arrived on a motorcycle with his sons, Nitin Singh and Ankur Singh, and his brother, Pintu Singh.
Altercation Over Finances Turns Violent
According to the police complaint filed by the victim's wife, Rupam, an argument broke out between Balmukund and Gajendra, which quickly escalated into a violent assault. Rupam alleged that the four accused collectively attacked her husband.
The complaint further reveals that the relationship between the two partners had deteriorated in recent months. Rupam told police that Gajendra had allegedly begun siphoning off a significant portion of the company's profits. Due to this ongoing financial dispute, Balmukund had recently started using another transport company to handle consignments from Agra, a move that likely intensified the conflict.
Police Action and Investigation
After the assault, Balmukund was rushed to a nearby medical college. He, however, succumbed to his injuries at the trauma centre. Following Rupam's formal complaint, the Firozabad police station registered a case under BNS section 103(1) for murder against the four accused: Gajendra Singh, Nitin Singh, Ankur Singh, and Pintu Singh.
SP (City) Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that the police have formed three dedicated teams to trace and apprehend the accused. "They will be arrested soon and strict legal action will follow. Investigation is underway," Prasad assured. The police's preliminary inquiry confirmed the long-standing business relationship between the victim and the main accused.
This tragic event highlights the extreme and violent consequences that business and financial disputes can sometimes lead to, ending a partnership of nearly thirty years in the most horrific manner possible.
