Sadar Bazar SHO Vijay Vikram Singh said the woman and her brother-in-law had been in contact through social media even before her marriage.

Police Statement

“The woman, who married the victim four months ago, was unhappy in the relationship. She and the deceased’s younger brother allegedly planned the murder so they could be together and eventually marry. The accused attacked the victim with a stone and later strangled him with a cloth towel,” DCP (City) Sayed Ali Abbas told TOI.

Investigators said the woman staged a suicide attempt by hanging herself to mislead the police.
