The victim has been identified as Amol Digambar Pawar. His friend, Nitesh Arun Janjal, is now in custody, arrested by the Civil Lines police on charges of murder. According to investigators, the two men had been sharing a residence in the Sanjay Nagar area for approximately three years.
Police reports indicate a pattern of conflict, with the duo frequently engaging in arguments after consuming alcohol. The fateful night of Thursday followed this familiar script. An argument erupted between Amol and Nitesh after they had been drinking. The situation escalated dramatically when Nitesh, who had reportedly brought food for Amol that night, allegedly picked up a stick in a fit of rage.
