Lieutenant General Mann suffered severe injuries on January 9. An auto-rickshaw struck him near his residence in Panchkula. He received immediate medical attention but could not survive. The retired officer succumbed to his injuries the following day at Command Hospital.

The victim's wife filed a formal complaint at Mansa Devi police station on January 10. She reported that a speeding auto-rickshaw hit her husband. Panchkula deputy commissioner of police Srishti Gupta confirmed these details.

Police officials registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They initiated a thorough investigation immediately. Authorities traced the accused driver on January 13. His arrest followed the next day.

The arrested individual is Om Prakash. He originally hails from Rajasthan but currently resides in Manav Colony, Saketri, Chandigarh. Police have taken him into custody for further legal proceedings.
