Bandi Sanjay's Son Granted Interim Bail in POCSO Case
Hyderabad: Bandi Bageerath, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay, was granted interim bail by a local criminal court in Malkajgiri district. This decision came more than a month after he was remanded in judicial custody. He was released from Cherlapally Jail on Saturday afternoon.
The court granted interim bail for a period of five days, from Saturday to Wednesday. Bageerath is scheduled to be produced before the court on Thursday. He was arrested last month for the alleged violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to Cyberabad Police, “The bail was sought by the accused because he has to appear for his graduation examinations. The court accepted his plea.” The accused is studying at a private university in the city. After the court order was submitted to the authorities at Cherlapally Jail, he was released.
Bageerath was arrested by Petbasheerabad Police following a complaint lodged by a minor girl, who accused him of sexual misconduct.
