BBA Student Shot in Ghaziabad Over Old Rivalry

Ghaziabad: A 23-year-old BBA student was shot at by a group of youths with whom he had an old rivalry in the Nandgram area on Friday. One person has been arrested in the case, police said.

Incident Details

According to police, the victim, Tarun Singh, had a heated argument with the youths just before he was shot. Singh is a resident of E Block in Nandgram and studies in a local college in Vasundhra.

ACP Nandgram Ziauddin Ahmed said the student said around 11.40 pm, he had gone to eat at a restaurant located on the 100 Futa Road. There, around eight youths riding bikes arrived at the spot and started abusing him, he claimed. An argument broke out between them, which escalated into a physical fight.

Two youths on the bike then fired at Tarun and a bullet hit Tarun’s right hand above his elbow.

Complaint and Arrest

The student has filed a complaint naming five guys — Akash Tyagi, Sumit Tyagi, Sagar Pandit, Rahul Sharma and a second Sagar — and a few other unidentified men for the incident. Out of these men, Sagar Pandit has already been arrested.

The ACP said an FIR has been registered against the accused persons under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the BNS at the Nandgram police station. Teams have been formed to nab the other accused.
