In the early hours of April 26, alert beat marshals thwarted a burglary attempt in Birsa Nagar, Dighori, under the Wathoda police station limits in Nagpur. The incident occurred when the complainant, Sumit Dhandare (29), a resident of Birsa Nagar, had locked his house on the evening of April 25 and left for Umred with his family to attend a relative's wedding.
Between 4 am and 4:30 am, two masked burglars broke into the house. However, beat marshals Shailendra Kumar and Sagar Bhoyar, who were on night patrol, were tipped off by a vigilant citizen and promptly intervened. The accused were identified as Tapish Bagde (24) and Rishabh Kawale (25), both residents of Jaripatka. They were arrested at the scene.
A case has been registered by the Wathoda police, and further investigation is underway. The swift action by the beat marshals prevented any loss of property and ensured the safety of the neighborhood.
