Tragic Discovery in Bilaspur
A heartbreaking incident has come to light in the Rauda sector of Bilaspur town, where a woman and her son were found dead in their house on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Kumud Sharma (66), a retired teacher, and her son Akshansh (36). The family originally hailed from Arki but had been residing in a rented accommodation in Bilaspur for some time.
Background of the Victims
According to reports, Akshansh had become bedridden following a severe accident that occurred two to three years ago. He required regular physiotherapy sessions, which were conducted by a physiotherapist who visited their home.
Events Leading to the Discovery
On Friday, when the physiotherapist arrived for the scheduled session, no one answered the door. Assuming that Akshansh was asleep, the therapist left without raising any alarm. Later in the evening, the physiotherapist informed relatives living in Bilaspur, who frequently visited the mother and son to assist them. Concerned by the lack of response, the relatives raised an alarm and contacted the police.
Police officials arrived at the scene and found the mother and son lying dead on a bed. The bodies were subsequently sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police Investigation Underway
Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal confirmed the incident and stated, “A case of death of a woman and her son has come to light in Rauda sector of the town. The police have sent both bodies for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. The matter is being thoroughly investigated.” He further added that the bodies would be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem.

The family had been living quietly, and the son’s condition had been known to many.
