Bengaluru PG Owner Murdered Over Leg Washing Dispute

In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 45-year-old paying guest (PG) accommodation owner was allegedly murdered by two college students after he objected to them washing their legs inside the building. The arrested individuals have been identified as Rakesh, 21, a BCom final year student, and Don Brite Son, 20, a BBA first year student.

Incident Details

The incident took place on the night of June 22, 2026, at a PG facility in the Jnanabharathi area of Bengaluru. The victim, Madhav Matle, had reportedly confronted the two students earlier in the evening, asking them not to wash their legs inside the premises as it was causing waterlogging and unhygienic conditions. An argument ensued, escalating into a physical altercation.

Murder and Arrest

According to police, the students allegedly attacked Matle with a sharp weapon, causing fatal injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds. The accused fled the scene but were apprehended by the police within hours based on CCTV footage and witness statements. They have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for murder.
