A shocking case of extreme animal cruelty has emerged from Bengaluru's JP Nagar area. The incident involved the brutal assault and killing of a young puppy, causing widespread anger among local residents and animal welfare volunteers.
CCTV Footage Reveals Horrific Attack
CCTV footage from the location appears to show a man violently smashing the puppy against a wall. The attacker then pinned the helpless animal to the ground. This graphic evidence has circulated widely, fueling public outrage.
Police Complaint Filed, Search Underway
South Bengaluru Care, an animal welfare organization, has filed a formal complaint with the Puttenahalli police station. Law enforcement authorities have launched a search operation for the accused individual.
Police have identified the suspect as Nepal Kiran. He worked as a security guard at a restaurant in JP Nagar and was staying at his brother's rented accommodation in the area. Following the incident, Kiran has reportedly gone into hiding.
How the Incident Came to Light
Animal welfare volunteers discovered the disturbing case early on January 9th. A local dog feeder first shared videos of the incident in a WhatsApp group dedicated to animal care in the community.
This feeder had been regularly caring for a litter of eight puppies in the JP Nagar neighborhood. While volunteers managed to recover the body of one puppy, the remaining seven puppies from the litter are currently missing.
Animal Activists Demand Justice
Manjari Chaitanya, founder of South Bengaluru Cares, expressed deep concern about the nature of the crime. "This is not just about a neonate puppy who was brutally murdered," Chaitanya stated. "It is about the case of a psychopath who poses a genuine threat to our society."
Another animal rights activist, Priyam Chhetri, has called for strict legal action against the accused. Chhetri emphasized that such acts of cruelty cannot be tolerated in a civilized society.
The incident has sparked conversations about animal protection laws and enforcement mechanisms in urban areas. Many Bengaluru residents are demanding stronger measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
