Kenneth, the live-in partner of 25-year-old techie Shwetha, was arrested in Puducherry on Friday in connection with the triple murder of her parents and younger sister, police said. The arrest came days after Shwetha was taken into custody from the same Union Territory.
Details of the Arrest
According to police, Kenneth was traced and detained in Puducherry after being on the run. He had allegedly taken shelter in beach shacks to avoid detection. A senior police officer confirmed that Kenneth was apprehended following a coordinated effort.
Shwetha was arrested earlier this week for allegedly killing her parents Somasundar (52), Muthulaxmi (48), and younger sister Supriya (19). The murders occurred on Monday night at an apartment in Seegehalli under the limits of K R Puram Police Station.
Motive and Investigation
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were opposed to Shwetha's relationship with Kenneth, which may have led to tensions. Shwetha had reportedly been living with Kenneth for the past two months. The victims visited the couple's flat on Monday evening, where an argument broke out, leading to the fatal stabbings.
Police believe the murders were carried out in connivance with Kenneth. A joint interrogation of both accused is underway to determine the exact sequence of events and the precise motive.
Ongoing Probe
Police are continuing their investigation, with further details expected to emerge from the interrogation. The case has drawn significant attention due to the nature of the crime and the involvement of a young techie.
