Three Perish in Horrific Highway Collision Near Bhilwara
A devastating road accident on the Bhilwara-Kota national highway resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including an eight-month-old infant, on Thursday afternoon. The collision involved a speeding dumper and an Eco car near Bigod town.
The infant, identified as Nakul, his 40-year-old uncle Narayan, and the car driver, Bhanu Pratap, lost their lives. The child's mother, Ganiya (30), and his three-year-old sister, Mannu, sustained critical injuries and were rushed for advanced treatment.
Sequence of the Tragic Event
The family was en route from Bhilwara to Mandalgarh in the Eco car. According to Bigod police station in-charge Jai Sultan Kaviya, the dumper, coming from the opposite direction, crashed into the car while attempting an overtaking maneuver on the highway.
The impact was severe. Nakul and Narayan died at the spot. The driver, Bhanu Pratap, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara.
Ganiya, a resident of Meja village in the Mandal police station area, was traveling to her parental home in Mandalgarh with her two young children and brother-in-law when the tragedy struck.
Aftermath and Police Investigation
The force of the collision completely destroyed the front portion of the Eco car. The accident caused a significant traffic snarl on the busy highway, which law enforcement personnel cleared with considerable effort to restore normal traffic flow.
Personnel from the Bigod police station promptly reached the accident site. After conducting the necessary postmortem procedures, the bodies were handed over to the grieving family members.
Police have seized the involved dumper and registered a case to investigate the circumstances leading to the fatal crash. The critically injured mother and daughter were referred to a hospital in Udaipur for further medical care.
This incident highlights the recurring danger on national highways and underscores the critical need for cautious driving, especially during overtaking.
