Police in Bhopal have registered a serious case against a man accused of a heinous betrayal. The Deceptive Trap and Assault
The victim, a 32-year-old woman employed in a private job, lives in Bhopal with her husband, who works as a property broker. The ordeal began approximately a year ago when the accused, known to the family, allegedly contacted her with a fabricated story. He claimed that her husband was about to hand over Rs 10 lakh to a known criminal in a risky property deal and warned that the money would be lost forever.
Worried, the woman confronted her husband, who dismissed the warning. However, the seed of anxiety had been planted. Exploiting her continued distress, the accused then lured her to a hotel in the Shahpura area, which was owned by a friend. Once she arrived at the location, he allegedly raped her.
The Blackmail Demand for Rs 10 Lakh
The horror did not end there. The very next day, the accused called the victim. This time, he issued a chilling threat. He stated he would release footage of the assault online unless she paid him Rs 10 lakh. Faced with this terrifying ultimatum, the traumatized woman gathered the courage to approach the police and file a formal complaint, detailing the entire sequence of events from the initial deception to the sexual assault and the blackmail attempt.
Police Investigation and Search
Based on the woman's complaint, the Bhopal police have officially booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for rape and extortion. A manhunt is underway to locate and arrest the absconding accused. The police are investigating the claims about the hotel in Shahpura and gathering further evidence related to the blackmail threats.
