Bhopal: A road rage incident escalated into violence in the Gandhi Nagar area late Thursday night when three unidentified youths on a motorcycle allegedly assaulted two security guards and attacked one of them with a knife near Nayapura village. Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case on charges of attempt to commit culpable homicide against the unidentified youths.
Incident Details
According to police, Ajay Bansal, 25, a resident of the Chhola area, works as a security guard in Bairagarh. He and his colleague Santosh Lodhi were returning home on a motorcycle after finishing their duty when three youths on a bike overtook them near Nayapura village.
When Santosh objected to the rash driving, the accused allegedly started riding alongside them. Moments later, they kicked the guards' motorcycle, causing both riders to fall onto the road.
Attack and Injury
The trio then allegedly thrashed the two men. One of the accused pulled out a knife and attempted to stab Santosh in the abdomen. Ajay intervened and caught hold of the blade, suffering deep injuries to his palm.
Passersby who noticed the commotion stopped at the scene, prompting the attackers to flee on their motorcycle.
Police Investigation
Ajay told police that the accused appeared to be between 20 and 25 years old. Based on Santosh Lodhi's complaint, Gandhi Nagar police registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers.
