Bihar govt reshuffles 11 IAS, 16 IPS officers

In a major administrative overhaul, the Bihar government on Sunday reshuffled 11 IAS and 16 IPS officers across key departments, including finance, health, disaster management, tourism, economic offences, and law and order.

IAS Reshuffle Details

In the IAS reshuffle, senior IAS officer Anand Kishor was relieved of the post of finance department additional chief secretary (ACS). However, Anand will continue as chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) and retain additional charge of the environment, forest and climate change department.

Additional chief secretary of the backward classes and extremely backward classes department, H R Srinivas, was shifted to the social welfare department in the same capacity. He will also continue to hold additional charge of his previous department and serve as inquiry commissioner in the general administration department.

Water resources department principal secretary Santosh Kumar Mall was posted as principal secretary of the disaster management department and officer on special duty-cum-resident commissioner of Bihar Bhavan, New Delhi. Health department secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh was shifted to the tourism department while retaining additional charge of the science, technology and technical education department and the CM secretariat.

Industries department secretary Kundan Kumar was relieved of the additional charges of resident commissioner of Bihar Bhavan, New Delhi, and investment commissioner at Mumbai. Kumar Ravi was transferred from the CM secretariat to the health department as secretary with additional charge of the parliamentary affairs department.

Prohibition, excise and registration department secretary Ajay Yadav was made energy department secretary with additional responsibilities, including managing director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited and State Beverage Corporation Limited.

Commercial taxes department secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh was posted as finance department secretary. Art and culture department secretary Pranav Kumar was shifted to the building construction department, while energy department secretary Manoj Kumar Singh was made resident commissioner of Bihar Bhavan, New Delhi, with additional charge of investment commissioner at Mumbai.

Secretary in the CM secretariat Chandrashekhar Singh was posted as secretary of the water resources department with additional charge of the information and public relations department and Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation. Rajnish Kumar Singh was made jail IG while retaining additional charge of registrar of cooperative societies.

IPS Reshuffle Details

In the IPS reshuffle, additional director general (ADG) of the Economic Offences Unit Naiyar Hasnain Khan was shifted as ADG of Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP). ADG-cum-additional commissioner of civil defence Paresh Saxena was posted as ADG-cum-commissioner of civil defence, while Nirmal Kumar Azad was promoted and posted as director general of police (training).

ADG Sudhanshu Kumar was posted as ADG (law and order) with additional charge of state traffic, while Amit Kumar Jain was made ADG of the Economic Offences Unit. Kamal Kishore Singh was posted as ADG (rail), Ajitabh Kumar as ADG of the State Crime Records Bureau and modernisation, and Sanjay Singh as ADG (budget, appeal and welfare) with additional charge of security.

ADG Amit Lodha was shifted to technical services and communication, while Amrit Raj was transferred to the cybercrime and security unit. Special secretary in the home department Kase Suhita was posted as ADG (weaker sections) in the Crime Investigation Department.

Adviser in the state planning board Vikas Vaibhav was posted as inspector general (IG) of the Magadh range in Gaya, replacing Kshatranil Singh, who was shifted to the home department (special) as special secretary.

IG P Kannan was made IG (provisioning), while IG Ranjit Kumar Mishra was posted to the crime investigation department with additional charge of the cybercrime and security unit. IG Sanjay Kumar was shifted to the special branch.
