Bokaro Police Ban Masks in Jewelry Stores After Robbery

Bokaro Police Implement Strict Security Measures for Jewelry Stores

Bokaro police have ramped up security protocols for jewelry establishments in the city. Customers will no longer be allowed to enter stores with their faces covered by masks or scarves. This decision aims to enhance safety and prevent criminal activities.

Meeting with Jewelry Traders and Shop Owners

Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh chaired a crucial meeting with over 100 gold traders and jewelry shop owners. They discussed foolproof security measures to protect these businesses. The move follows a failed robbery attempt at a prominent jewelry shop on January 11.

An alert guard raised the alarm during the incident, prompting police to take swift action. This event highlighted the need for stronger security protocols. All DSPs and officers in charge of police stations across the district attended the meeting.

New Rules for Customers and Shop Owners

SP Harvinder Singh addressed the media after the meeting. He announced the new rule about face coverings. Jewelers must display prominent signage outside their stores. These signs will notify patrons to keep their faces fully visible for identification purposes.

Police have also urged shop owners to ensure that CCTV systems are fully operational. They should upgrade these cameras to high-definition standards and position them correctly. Hidden cameras must be installed at strategic locations as well.

Enhanced Security Systems and Police Vigilance

The SP emphasized the importance of installing high-decibel sirens and emergency alarm systems. These systems should integrate with the nearest police stations. The recent loot attempt was foiled due to the alertness of staff who pressed the alarm at the right time.

Bokaro police are strengthening their motorcycle-borne units, known as Rakshak Riders. These units will maintain constant vigilance in every corner of the city. Currently, there are nine teams with 75 personnel and 45 motorbikes in this unit.

These measures aim to create a safer environment for both businesses and customers. The police hope to prevent future incidents through these proactive steps.
