The Bombay High Court on Monday issued notice in a criminal application seeking cancellation of bail granted to the father of a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly driving the car that rammed into Ghatkopar businessman Dhrumil Patel's scooter in Vidyavihar on February 5. Dhrumil succumbed to his injuries after battling for life for over 10 days in hospital.
Widow's Plea
His widow Minal, who was riding pillion at the time of the incident, petitioned the High Court to cancel the bail granted by a trial court to the father of the minor on March 4. Minal's lower body was crushed, and she is still undergoing medical treatment. Her lawyers Atharva Dandekar and Ruben Mascarenhas submitted that the child in conflict with law appeared to have a 'blatant disregard for human life'.
Next Hearing
The High Court posted the matter for hearing next on June 4.
