Buxar Tightens Security for Makar Sankranti Festivities

The Buxar district administration has implemented extensive preparations to guarantee peaceful Makar Sankranti celebrations on January 14 and 15. District Magistrate Sahila and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya issued a joint directive on Tuesday, placing all departments on high alert.

Security and Vigilance Measures

All magistrates and police personnel received strict instructions to report promptly and maintain constant vigilance. The order mandates immediate reporting of any law and order issues to senior officers while taking swift local action.

Special Arrangements for Ganga Snan

Authorities ordered special security protocols for the traditional Ganga snan rituals. Station House Officers from various police stations will deploy sufficient forces, conduct continuous patrols, and oversee arrangements. Circle officers will participate in joint patrols with police teams.

Divers will position themselves at crowded river ghats, with their deployment details shared with the district confidential section for coordination.

Infrastructure and Safety Protocols

Municipal bodies received directives to ensure thorough cleanliness and install warning signs at potentially dangerous ghats. Traffic management will fall under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic).

Fire tenders will remain fully operational throughout the celebrations. Health teams with ambulances and essential medicines will stay on standby for emergencies.

Additional Monitoring and Event Planning

The cyber police unit will actively monitor social media platforms to prevent the spread of rumors and misinformation. Following a comprehensive review meeting, District Magistrate Sahila personally inspected Ramrekha Ghat and Sipahi Ghat. District Public Relations Officer Amit Kumar confirmed the presence of several senior officials during this inspection.

Festival Activities and Arrangements

A vibrant kite festival will take place on the western side of Sipahi Ghat, while the eastern side will serve as a designated parking area. The celebrations will feature numerous events including flash mob performances, musical chair games, sack races, kabaddi matches, kho-kho competitions, tug-of-war contests, handball games, and kite flying competitions.

These coordinated efforts demonstrate the administration's commitment to ensuring both security and enjoyment during the traditional Makar Sankranti festivities in Buxar district.
