A major traffic disruption unfolded on the busy Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway on Thursday evening after a moving car suddenly caught fire. The incident, which took place in the Unnao district, led to a significant traffic jam but, fortunately, resulted in no serious injuries.

Panic on the Highway: Driver's Quick Escape

The alarming event occurred near Kallupurwa, under the jurisdiction of the Jajmau Chowki in the Gangaghat police station area. According to details, the driver of the car, which was heading towards Lucknow, noticed smoke billowing from the vehicle's bonnet. Acting swiftly, he brought the car to an immediate halt and jumped out to safety. He sustained only minor injuries in the process.

Alert passersby at the scene quickly notified the police and the fire department. Teams from the Jajmau Chowki police and the Gangaghat police station rushed to the spot. Their primary tasks were managing the chaotic situation and starting the process of clearing the stalled traffic. The fire department arrived promptly and successfully extinguished the blaze. However, the car was completely damaged by the intense fire.

Local residents present at the location provided initial first aid to the driver. The fire and the subsequent emergency response affected traffic flow on both sides of the crucial highway for approximately 30 minutes. Police personnel worked to divert vehicles and eventually managed to restore normal traffic movement.
