Chandrampalem School Staff Allege Harassment by Headmaster

More than 70 teachers and non-teaching staff members of Chandrampalem High School in Visakhapatnam have accused the school headmaster of persistent harassment, including verbal abuse and derogatory remarks targeting women teachers. The staff submitted a signed representation to Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Saturday, detailing their grievances and demanding action.

Allegations of Abuse and Derogatory Remarks

The staff claimed that the headmaster frequently abuses them without reason and makes inappropriate comments towards female teachers. They stated that a junior assistant recently sought a transfer and left the school due to the headmaster’s intolerable behavior. According to the staff, multiple inquiries have been conducted against the headmaster in the past, but no action was taken, allegedly because he enjoys support from higher authorities. They also alleged that district officials did not take the issue seriously, assigning the inquiry to a junior assistant and an attendant instead of senior officials.

Staff Seek MLA’s Intervention

The group met MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao and explained the difficulties they face due to the headmaster’s conduct. They submitted a representation signed by over 70 of the school’s 82 staff members, raising objections to what they described as the headmaster’s “unilateral functioning.” The staff warned that if the situation continues, it would become difficult for anyone to work at the school.
