Chemical Tanker Collision Sparks Major Fire on Jaipur-Delhi Highway
A serious accident involving a chemical tanker and a trailer occurred on the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway (NH-48) Sunday evening. The collision triggered a massive fire that brought traffic to a complete standstill.
Details of the Accident
The incident happened near Paota in the Kotputli-Behror district around 8:30 PM. According to police reports, the tanker was traveling toward New Delhi when it lost control. The vehicle crossed the divider and crashed into a trailer before catching fire.
Both vehicles were quickly engulfed in flames following the impact. Chemicals from the tanker spilled across a large section of the highway and flowed into a nearby drain, intensifying the fire situation.
Immediate Response and Rescue
Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the crash. They helped rescue the drivers and helpers from both vehicles. Fortunately, all occupants managed to escape in time, according to SP Devendra Kumar Bishnoi.
Police received information from the control room and quickly mobilized emergency services. All nearby ambulances, hospitals, and fire brigade units were placed on high alert.
Firefighting and Traffic Management
Multiple fire brigade teams were deployed to battle the blaze. They worked for several hours before finally bringing the fire under control. Traffic on the busy highway was completely stopped as a safety precaution.
