CISF jawan critically hurt after fall from Vivek Express

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel sustained critical injuries after a reported fall from the moving Vivek Express train near Duliajan Railway Station in Assam on Tuesday night. The incident has prompted an investigation by railway authorities.

Constable's Swift Action Saves Life

The injured jawan was identified as Jacob Thomas Minz, a resident of Ranchi in Jharkhand. He was stationed at the CISF Security Colony in Duliajan. The alarming discovery was made around 9 pm by a vigilant constable from the Government Railway Police Force (GRPF) who was on patrol duty.

The constable recounted finding Minz lying unconscious and bleeding heavily on the railway tracks shortly after the Vivek Express had passed. "I was walking along the track when the Vivek Express passed by. Then I saw the CISF jawan lying bloodied on the railway track. I immediately dragged him to the side, and some local people came to help," the constable stated. With assistance from locals, he moved the injured man to safety and arranged for urgent medical attention.

Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Jacob Thomas Minz was first taken to the Oil India Hospital in Duliajan for emergency treatment. Due to the grave nature of his injuries, he was later referred and transferred to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh. According to sources at the hospital, his condition remains critical as of the latest reports.

The CISF unit stationed in Duliajan has been formally notified about the unfortunate event. Officials have also established contact with Minz's family in Jharkhand to keep them informed about his health status.

Investigation Launched into Circumstances

Authorities have initiated a probe to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the fall. Investigators are examining whether it was a tragic accident or if other elements contributed to the incident. As part of the inquiry, CCTV footage from Duliajan and nearby railway stations is being meticulously reviewed to piece together the moments before the accident.

The incident occurred while the Vivek Express, renowned as India's longest-running train route connecting Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari, was on its journey. The investigation aims to provide clarity on this distressing event involving a member of the central security forces.
