Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against participants of a rally organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on July 20, invoking 13 distinct charges including attempt to murder, according to officials familiar with the matter.

The FIR, lodged at the Kartavya Path police station on the complaint of an inspector, states that a large group of protesters attempted to break through police barricades erected to prevent them from entering the high-security zone around Parliament. The charges under the Indian Penal Code include sections related to unlawful assembly, rioting, assault on public servants, and attempt to murder.
News agency PTI reported that the police complaint detailed how the crowd turned violent when stopped at the security cordon, pushing and shoving officers and using force to try and breach the barriers.
