A shocking case of sexual violence has emerged from Rajasthan's Bikaner district, where a 17-year-old Class 12 student was allegedly abducted and gang-raped inside a moving car last week. The gruesome incident, which has sent shockwaves through the region, was reported to the police on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
The Abduction and Assault
According to the police, the horrific crime unfolded under the jurisdiction of the Napasar police station. Station House Officer (SHO) Sushma Rathore stated that the victim was on her way to school when two men accosted her near the school premises. The accused, one of whom is reportedly a lawyer, forcibly pushed the teenager into their car.
The First Information Report (FIR) reveals a harrowing sequence of events. The men then drove around for hours, subjecting the girl to a brutal sexual assault. They took turns raping her inside the moving vehicle while simultaneously threatening her to ensure her silence.
Villagers' Intervention and Rescue
The ordeal came to an end only when the car entered a neighbouring village. Alert locals heard the victim's desperate cries emanating from the vehicle and grew suspicious. They promptly intervened and stopped the car.
Faced with the approaching villagers, the perpetrators pushed the girl out of the vehicle and fled the scene. The compassionate villagers then approached the traumatized victim, comforted her, and immediately informed her family. The family rushed to the spot and took her home.
Police Action and Investigation Status
Following a formal complaint by the victim's family, the police have swung into action. An FIR has been registered at the Napasar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the new penal code. SHO Rathore confirmed that a thorough investigation is currently underway.
In a crucial detail from the victim's police statement, it has been revealed that she knows one of the accused. This connection is likely a key line of inquiry for the investigators. As of now, the police are awaiting the victim's medical examination report, which will form vital forensic evidence.
"No arrests have been made so far," stated SHO Sushma Rathore, adding, "A hunt is on to nab the absconding accused at the earliest." The police have launched a manhunt to track down and arrest the two men involved in this heinous crime.
