DVAC Raids Trichy Transport Office, Seizes Rs 1.4 Lakh

Trichy: As part of a statewide operation, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted a raid at the West Regional Transport Office in Trichy and seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 1.4 lakh. At least six people, including the motor vehicle inspector (MVI), were detained.

The seizure was made by a team led by DSP G Manikandan during an hour-long raid at the office located in Pirattiyur. The team interrogated transport office staff and questioned brokers present on the premises. Apart from the MVI, three brokers and two people from a driving school were also booked, sources said.

DVAC teams also seized Rs 39,140 from 10 brokers in Perambalur and Rs 29,000 from six brokers in Ariyalur. Further investigation is underway.
