In a shocking incident in Faridabad, two men have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a doctor with a pair of scissors and looting a significant sum of cash from his eye clinic. The attack, which took place in the SGM Nagar area, has sent ripples through the local community and raised concerns about the safety of medical professionals.
The Violent Assault at the Eye Clinic
The incident occurred on December 21 at an eye clinic located near Sharma Chowk in SGM Nagar. The victim, Dr. Rahul, was present at his clinic when the two accused, identified as Sunil Chaudhary alias Sonu and Robin Sharma alias Ganju, both residents of the same locality, entered the premises. According to police reports, the duo began verbally abusing the doctor without provocation.
When Dr. Rahul objected to their behavior, the situation quickly escalated into violence. Robin Sharma allegedly picked up a pair of scissors from a table and attacked the doctor. Both men then physically assaulted Dr. Rahul, leaving him injured. Following the assault, the accused proceeded to loot Rs 1.10 lakh from the clinic's cash drawer before fleeing the scene.
Police Investigation and Motive Behind the Attack
Acting on a formal complaint filed by Dr. Rahul, the SGM Nagar police station registered an FIR and launched an investigation. Their probe led to the arrest of the two accused. During interrogation, a property dispute emerged as the primary motive behind the violent crime.
Police revealed that Sunil Chaudhary's father had previously requested Dr. Rahul's assistance in selling their house. The doctor had been sending potential buyers to their residence. However, Sunil was strongly opposed to selling the property, which led to growing tension and a dispute between him and Dr. Rahul.
On the day of the incident, Sunil first visited the clinic alone and argued with the doctor. He later called his associate, Robin Sharma, to the location. Together, they carried out the planned assault and robbery. Police have so far recovered Rs 70,000 of the stolen cash from the arrested individuals.
Legal Proceedings and Community Impact
Both accused were produced before a local court, which has remanded them to two days of police custody for further interrogation. The case highlights alarming instances of violence against healthcare workers, prompting calls for enhanced security measures at medical facilities.
The brazen attack in a residential and commercial area like SGM Nagar has concerned local residents and business owners. It underscores the need for swift police action and preventive strategies to protect professionals serving the public. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to ensure all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined.
