Faridkot Police Arrest 2 Arsh Dalla Gang Members with Pistols

The Faridkot police have successfully thwarted a major criminal plot by apprehending two operatives of the Arsh Dalla gang and seizing two foreign-made pistols along with live ammunition, officials confirmed on Saturday.

Arrests and Recoveries

The suspects have been identified as Upjinder Singh, also known as Gagna, a resident of Panjgrain Kalan in Faridkot, and Talwinder Singh, alias Happy, from Karamgarh village in Barnala district. Law enforcement recovered the weapons during the operation.

Links to Incarcerated Gang Operative

Preliminary investigations have revealed connections between the arrested individuals and Navjot Singh, alias Neetu, an operative of the Arsh Dalla gang currently lodged in Central Jail, Faridkot. The police have obtained a production warrant for Neetu, and further disclosures are anticipated during his interrogation.

Criminal Backgrounds

Both Upjinder Singh and Talwinder Singh have extensive criminal histories, with seven prior cases registered against them under the Arms Act, drug trafficking, and other serious charges. Similarly, Navjot Singh, alias Neetu, faces seven cases under various serious sections.

Legal Proceedings

A case under Sections 25(6), 25(7), 54, and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered at the Sadar Kotkapura police station.

Additional Operations

In separate actions, the police arrested Jaspal Singh, alias Paalu, from Moga district, recovering 101 grams of heroin, a .32 bore country-made pistol with a magazine, and two live .32 bore cartridges. In another case, Saroop Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran district, was arrested with a .32-bore country-made pistol and three live cartridges.
