A 30-year-old gas vendor was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne criminals late Sunday night in the Danapur area of Patna district. The victim, identified as Indal Sao, sustained three bullet wounds—one in the chest, one in the ribs, and one in the left arm—and died on the spot.
Incident Details
The shooting occurred near Takshashila Colony on Nasriganj Biscuit Factory Road. Police recovered a mobile phone and an empty cartridge from the crime scene. The phone helped confirm the victim's identity. Indal was a resident of Bank Colony on Gola Road under Danapur police station area.
Brother's Account
Indal's brother Sanjeet Kumar, who operates a grocery shop on Gola Road, said: "Around 9pm on Sunday, Indal was sitting at my grocery shop when his friend arrived and took him on a bike. I spoke to Indal on the phone later. He said he would be back soon. An hour later, I was told he was murdered." Sanjeet alleged that the same friend who took Indal was behind the killing.
Police Investigation
Family members of the deceased reached the Danapur sub-divisional hospital after getting information. The forensic team collected samples from the crime scene. Danapur ASP Shivam Dhakad visited the spot and said, "All angles are being probed. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned to identify the culprits. A case has been registered at Danapur police station against unidentified persons and further legal action is underway."
Indal was a native of Banspati village under Runnisaidpur police station in Sitamarhi district. Police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons in this regard.
