Multiple rounds were fired at the office of Congress MLA Balram Dangi in Meham town, Rohtak district, during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, according to police reports. The incident occurred at the office located in front of the Meham Police Station, which was closed at the time. No injuries were reported.
Investigation Underway
Police have seized the CCTV DVR from the premises and initiated an investigation to identify the perpetrators. The matter came to light on Saturday morning when the caretaker arrived and discovered shattered outer glass panes. Upon closer inspection, it was determined that the damage was caused by gunfire.
Congress MLA Balram Dangi confirmed the incident, stating that four to five bullet marks were found on the glass. Police teams rushed to the spot and assessed the situation. The CCTV DVR has been taken into possession for evidence collection and footage examination.
No Suspects Named
Dangi stated that he does not suspect anyone at this stage and that it is now up to the police investigation to identify those responsible. The incident has raised concerns about political violence in the region, but authorities are yet to determine a motive.
