Police Crack Down on Burglary Gang in Hardoi
In a significant breakthrough, Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested 14 individuals and detained two juveniles in connection with a high-value burglary at the residence of a businessman in Hardoi. The stolen cash, amounting to approximately Rs 1.29 crore, has been fully recovered from the accused. The operation involved multiple police units, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), SWAT, and local police teams.
How the Burglary Was Executed
The crime occurred on the night of July 16-17 at the home of Pankaj Agrawal in Railway Ganj. According to Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Subodh Gautam, the businessman had lodged a complaint naming his three domestic helps, leading to a case at Kotwali City police station. Investigations revealed that the domestic helps mixed sleeping pills into the food of the family members. Once everyone fell asleep, they called their associates, who arrived in a pickup vehicle and fled with bags containing cash. Sustained Police Action Leads to Arrests
The police formed multiple teams to investigate the case. Through sustained efforts, they arrested the accused one by one, eventually exposing the entire gang. The domestic helps had also contacted two juveniles before executing the crime. In total, 14 adults have been arrested and two juveniles detained. The recovered amount of Rs 1.29 crore in cash has been seized from the accused.

The recovery of the stolen cash is a major success for the police, who are continuing their investigation to determine if the gang was involved in other crimes. The accused are being interrogated to uncover further details about their network and any additional offenses. The police have not disclosed the names of the juveniles due to legal protections.
