The Hisar police have arrested a history-sheeter who had been absconding for nearly one and a half years. The accused, identified as Mandeep, a resident of Bhagana village, was taken into custody on Tuesday during a special drive targeting absconding and wanted criminals in the district.
Arrest Made on Secret Information
Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, the police intensified efforts to apprehend fugitives. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rakesh Kumar, along with his team, was on patrol and crime control duty when they received a tip-off that the accused was present in the Sector 1/4 area. The police team conducted a raid and successfully arrested him.
20 Criminal Cases Registered Against Mandeep
The arrested accused has 20 criminal cases registered against him at different police stations. The charges include robbery, dacoity, attempt to murder, assault, theft, offences under the Arms Act, and other serious sections. He had been evading arrest for a long time before his capture.
Police Remand and Investigation
The accused will be produced before the court and taken on police remand for detailed interrogation. The police aim to gather information about his involvement in other criminal cases and uncover any further links to criminal networks.
SP Siddhant Jain’s Statement
Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain stated that the police are taking strict action against criminals and that no offender trying to evade the law will be spared. He added that the special campaign against absconding and history-sheeter criminals will continue in the district.
