In a decisive blow against organized drug syndicates, the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) has revealed the seizure and demolition of illegal assets valued at a staggering Rs 13.6 crore. This massive financial hit targeted 107 notorious criminals and drug peddlers across the state throughout last year's intensive campaigns.
Beyond Arrests: Targeting the Financial Lifelines
Officials stated that the operation marked a strategic shift beyond routine seizures and arrests. The campaigns specifically aimed to dismantle the illegal assets, financial networks, organized syndicates, and supply chains that fuel the narcotics trade. The approach was multi-pronged, simultaneously strengthening enforcement, financial investigations, judicial action, technical surveillance, and encouraging public participation to attack both the demand and supply of drugs.
Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal commended the HSNCB, district police units, intelligence wings, and prosecution teams for their role in the 'Drug-Free Haryana' campaign. He attributed the success to collective dedication, professional excellence, and seamless coordination among all forces.
Scale of Enforcement: Major Networks in the Crosshairs
The statistics from last year underscore the scale and seriousness of the crackdown. A total of 3,738 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, leading to the arrest of 6,801 alleged drug traffickers. The breakdown of cases indicates a focus on major players:
- 457 cases involved commercial quantities of drugs.
- 2,620 cases involved intermediate quantities.
- 661 cases were related to small quantities.
These figures demonstrate that enforcement actions were strategically aimed at major traffickers and organized networks, not just petty offenders.
Massive Haul of Narcotics and Pharmaceuticals
Backed by special operations, technical surveillance, and credible intelligence, authorities confiscated enormous quantities of illicit substances in 2025. The recoveries paint a picture of a vast and varied drug market:
Traditional Narcotics Seized:
- Approximately 55 kg of heroin
- Over 220 kg of charas
- 240 grams of cocaine
- More than 6,257 kg of ganja
- Around 291 kg of opium
- A massive 18,039 kg of poppy husk
Crackdown on Pharmaceutical Abuse:
In a significant move against synthetic and prescription drug abuse, police also seized:
- Over 5.30 lakh tablets
- 4,493 bottles of syrups/preparations
- 1.16 lakh capsules
- 7,644 injections
This demonstrates a firm control strategy over both traditional plant-based narcotics and the growing threat of pharmaceutical drug trafficking.
Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy, DGP Ajay Singhal emphasized that the fight against drug trafficking must continue in a sustained, strategic, and even more effective manner. He vowed that Haryana Police is committed not only to bringing traffickers to justice but also to the ultimate goal of achieving a drug-free society.
