A four-month-old girl was allegedly killed by her father's aunt and her brother during a family dispute in the Gursahaiganj Kotwali area of Kannauj on Saturday evening.

Incident Details

Neeraj Batham, a resident of Gauhana Kheda village, stated that his maternal aunt Rekha Devi and maternal uncle Vicky arrived at his house and began abusing him. When he objected, they started assaulting him.

Assault Escalates

Neeraj said that during the assault, when his wife Jyoti intervened, she was also attacked. Rekha snatched the four-month-old daughter from Jyoti's arms and hit her against the ground, causing grievous head injuries.

The child was rushed to a hospital, where the doctor pronounced her dead.

Investigation Launched

Gursahaiganj police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Awasthi arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.

Neeraj added, 'After my mother's death, my father Lalta Prasad Batham married my maternal aunt Rekha Devi. She harbored a grudge against me and frequently assaulted me and my wife.'

The police station in-charge stated that both accused are on the run and will be arrested soon.
