Shocking Crime in Jaunpur: BTech Graduate Accused of Heinous Act
In a deeply disturbing incident from Jaunpur district, the local police have apprehended a 30-year-old man with an engineering degree for the alleged brutal murder of his own parents. The accused, identified as Ambesh Kumar, is charged with killing his retired father and mother, cutting their bodies into pieces, and throwing the remains into the Gomti river.
The Gruesome Details of the Double Murder
According to the police, the horrific event unfolded on the evening of December 8. Ambesh Kumar, who worked as a quality engineer, is said to have gotten into a heated argument with his parents over financial matters. The dispute turned fatal when he allegedly attacked his father, Shyam Bahadur, a former loco pilot, and his mother, Babita Devi, with a heavy silbatta, or grinding stone. The assault was so violent that it killed both of them on the spot inside their home in the Jafarabad area.
In a further act of brutality, the accused then used a saw to dismember the bodies of his deceased parents. Police state that he cut the corpses into approximately ten pieces. To dispose of the evidence, he packed the body parts into cement bags. Under the cover of darkness, he transported these bags to the Belawa bridge and dumped them into the waters of the Gomti River.
A Calculated Cover-Up and Eventual Arrest
Following the crime, Ambesh Kumar allegedly orchestrated an elaborate plan to mislead authorities and his own family. He returned home and convinced his sister, Vandana Devi, that their parents were missing. Acting on his information, she filed a missing persons report at the Jafarabad police station.
A few days later, the accused himself left the house, pretending to join the search for his missing parents. When he too did not return, his concerned sister filed another missing report, this time for her brother. However, as police investigators dug deeper, inconsistencies arose, and suspicion began to point towards Ambesh. He was subsequently tracked down and arrested from Jaunpur city on Monday evening.
During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the entire crime. Based on his statements, the police have recovered the alleged murder weapons, including the silbatta and the saw used in the dismemberment.
Ongoing Search and Recovery Efforts
Assistant Superintendent of Police for Jaunpur, Aayush Shrivastava, provided updates on the grim search operation. He confirmed that one body, believed to be that of the father, Shyam Bahadur, has been recovered from the Gomti river. An intensive search is currently underway to locate the remains of the mother, Babita Devi.
Around 15 divers have been deployed to scour the riverbed near the Belawa bridge area. The police investigation is ongoing as they work to piece together the full sequence of events and establish a concrete motive behind this chilling filial crime that has sent shockwaves through the community.
