A horrific road accident left a couple seriously injured in the early hours of Saturday when a speeding truck lost control and ploughed into their makeshift home in Jaunpur district, near Varanasi.
The Incident: A Sudden Impact at Dawn
The terrifying event unfolded around 4 am on Saturday in the Shahganj police station area. According to initial reports, a truck coming from the Azamgarh side was speeding when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck first hit a tree before careening off the road and crashing directly into a hut situated on the roadside near a hospital on Azamgarh Road.
Victims and Immediate Aftermath
The hut was the residence of Sanjay Kumar (40) and his wife Sindhu (35), who are residents of Natauli village. The violent impact of the truck left both occupants of the hut with serious injuries. Alert neighbours who heard the crash immediately informed the police and rushed to help the couple.
The injured duo was first taken to the local community health centre for urgent medical attention. Given the severity of their injuries, they were subsequently referred to the district hospital for advanced treatment.

Law enforcement responded promptly to the scene. The police took the truck driver into custody and seized the vehicle as part of the investigation. Shahganj Station Officer Kiran Kumar Singh confirmed that a case has been registered and that the incident is being thoroughly investigated to determine the exact cause of the accident.
