Kanpur Police Crack Down on Husband Murder Conspiracy
Kanpur police have made significant arrests in a shocking murder case that unfolded in the Asothar police station area of Fatehpur. Authorities detained three people, including a woman and her female partner, for their alleged involvement in a plot to kill the woman's husband. The victim's wife reportedly confessed to the crime when police questioned her about the incident.
Discovery of the Body and Initial Investigation
On January 14, local residents discovered a man's body lying in a pigeon pea field in Teekar village. Police immediately registered a case and launched a thorough investigation into the mysterious death. During their inquiries, officers uncovered a startling detail: the deceased man's wife had been maintaining a homosexual relationship with another woman.
According to police statements, the accused woman's partner frequently visited the victim's house to meet with his wife. When family members learned about this relationship, they intervened and prevented further meetings between the two women.
Secret Communications and Murder Plot
SP Anoop Singh explained that after being separated, the victim's wife and her partner began communicating secretly using a basic keypad mobile phone. Police examination of these conversations revealed that the two women had hatched a conspiracy to eliminate the husband.
The accused women reportedly contacted a professional assailant and negotiated a contract for the murder. They agreed on a total payment of Rs 60,000, with an initial installment of Rs 8,000 paid upfront to the killer.
Execution of the Crime
On January 14, as the victim arrived at his field, the contract killer and two accomplices allegedly ambushed him. The assailants first strangled the man with a rope, then slit his throat with a knife to ensure his death. The brutal attack left the victim dead in the agricultural field where his body was later discovered.
Police Action and Evidence Recovery
Police teams moved quickly to apprehend those involved in the conspiracy. They arrested the victim's wife, her female partner, and one associate connected to the case. However, the contract killer and another accomplice managed to escape and remain at large.
During the investigation, police recovered three mobile phones that had been used for planning the murder and conducting secret conversations. Authorities also seized the rope that was allegedly used to strangle the victim, providing crucial physical evidence for the case.
Ongoing Investigation
SP Anoop Singh confirmed that police have formed multiple teams to track down and arrest the absconding accused. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover all details of the murder conspiracy and ensure all involved parties face justice.
