Kendrapada Jeweller Brutally Attacked, Robbed of Valuables
In a shocking incident that has sent tremors through Kendrapada district, unidentified miscreants carried out a brutal attack on a local jeweller. The victim, Pradeep Nanda, who owns the Jagannath jewellery shop at Mahala Hat, suffered severe injuries when assailants chopped off his palms.
Attack Occurs During Return Journey
The horrific crime unfolded on Sunday night as Nanda was returning to his village, Thakurapatana. He had just closed his jewellery shop and was traveling in his four-wheeler vehicle. The vehicle contained gold ornaments and cash from his business operations.
According to police reports, the attack took place at Hurasahi Chhack under the jurisdiction of Kudanagari police station. The exact location falls within Kendrapada district, where such violent crimes remain relatively uncommon.
Police Investigation Underway
Jagannath Pradhan, the Inspector In-Charge of Kudanagari police station, confirmed the incident to reporters. He stated that police authorities have not yet determined the total value of the stolen valuables. The investigation remains active as officers work to identify the perpetrators.
"We shifted him to the district headquarters hospital at Kendrapada," Pradhan explained regarding the victim's immediate medical care. "Subsequently, he was transferred to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar by his family members."
