In a tragic conclusion to a 17-day search, the skeletal remains of a three-year-old boy were discovered on the bank of the Akto river in Koderma district on Tuesday. The child had been missing from Irgobad village since mid-December.

The deceased has been identified as Shef Ali, son of Razia Khatoon. According to the police, the boy's mother identified him based on the fragments of clothing found alongside the skull and teeth. The grim discovery was made on the riverbank on the outskirts of Irgobad village, bringing a sorrowful end to the extensive search operation.
Timeline of the Disappearance
The incident traces back to December 13, when young Shef Ali was playing near the local anganwadi centre. He was last seen around 3:30 pm before he mysteriously vanished. Following his disappearance, a formal complaint was lodged with the Jainagar police station, initiating the search.

Koderma Superintendent of Police Anudeep Singh stated that a special investigative team has been formed to unravel the circumstances leading to the child's death. The team is headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Rati Bhan Singh.
