PM Modi Chairs 52nd Pragati Meeting, Reviews Mega Infra Projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 52nd edition of the Pragati (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) meeting on June 24, 2025, where he reviewed infrastructure projects worth over Rs 30,000 crore. The meeting focused on expediting project completion and addressing bottlenecks across key sectors including highways, railways, and power.
Focus on Cyber Fraud and Digital Security
During the meeting, PM Modi issued strict directives to strengthen the response mechanism against cyber fraud. He emphasized the need for a coordinated approach among central agencies, state police, and financial institutions to curb rising digital crimes. The Prime Minister called for faster restoration of blocked funds and improved coordination between banks and law enforcement.
Project Details and Impact
The reviewed projects span multiple states and sectors. Key highlights include the completion of 12 national highway projects totaling Rs 12,500 crore, railway electrification and doubling projects worth Rs 8,000 crore, and power transmission projects valued at Rs 5,500 crore. The remaining Rs 4,000 crore covers urban development and drinking water schemes. Officials said these projects are expected to generate over 2 lakh direct and indirect jobs.
Timely Completion and Monitoring
PM Modi stressed the importance of adhering to strict timelines and warned of accountability for delays. He instructed ministries to use satellite imagery and real-time data for monitoring progress. The Prime Minister also directed that pending land acquisition and forest clearance issues be resolved within three months.
States and Ministries Involved
Representatives from 20 states and union territories participated via video conferencing. Ministries of Road Transport, Railways, Power, and Jal Shakti made detailed presentations. The meeting also reviewed the status of 150 stalled projects, with 45 now cleared for immediate implementation.
Previous Pragati Achievements
Since its inception in 2015, the Pragati platform has reviewed 350 projects worth over Rs 15 lakh crore. The 51st meeting in March 2025 had cleared 60 projects worth Rs 25,000 crore. The 52nd meeting continues the trend of high-level oversight to ensure infrastructure development meets national targets.
