In a significant breakthrough, the Kurukshetra district police have successfully cracked a high-stakes armed robbery case, leading to the arrest of all five individuals involved. The crime involved the looting of a trader's car at gunpoint. The police team managed to recover a substantial sum of ₹63.96 lakh in cash, the robbed vehicle, another car used during the crime, and illegal firearms.

Police Action and Arrests

Acting on directives from Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Nitish Aggarwal, the Crime Investigation Agency-I (CIA-I) took charge of the investigation into the armed robbery of a jeweller's vehicle. Through sustained efforts, the team, under the supervision of CIA-I in-charge Inspector Surender Kumar, apprehended all the suspects.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sandeep, Suraj alias Sonu, and Ashok Kumar, all residents of Shimli village, along with Sachin and Pradeep Kumar from Madina village in Rohtak district. Following their arrest, they were presented before a competent court. The court ordered Sandeep, Suraj, and Ashok Kumar to judicial custody, while Sachin and Pradeep Kumar were remanded to three days of police custody for further interrogation.

Details of the December 24 Robbery

The incident, as detailed by a police spokesperson, occurred on December 24, 2025. The complainant, Sagar Shah, a resident of Rohtak, reported that his driver and an employee were travelling in his car to Shahabad for work. On their return journey via National Highway 152-D, near Talheri village, their vehicle was intercepted by unidentified youths in two cars.

As the driver stepped out, the assailants allegedly pointed a pistol at him, assaulted him, and looted all valuable items and cash from the car. They also snatched the driver's mobile phone and discarded it. The criminals then forcibly took the car keys and fled the scene with the trader's vehicle. Based on Shah's complaint, a case was registered at the Ismailabad police station before being transferred to the CIA-I for investigation.

Recovery and Ongoing Investigation

The police operation yielded significant recoveries, including the robbed car, the entire ₹63.96 lakh in cash, the second vehicle used by the accused to execute the crime, and the weapons employed in the robbery. Kurukshetra police officials have stated that a further investigation is underway. The probe aims to ascertain the accused's potential involvement in other criminal activities and to recover any remaining proceeds linked to this crime.
