Chilling Details of the Daylight Attack
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred around 2:30 PM near the main market area when Kumar was returning from a property meeting. Three armed assailants approached the victim and opened fire at close range, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Local shopkeepers and bystanders rushed Kumar to the nearest hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The sheer audacity of the attack in a crowded area has left the local community in a state of shock and fear.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests
Palamu police launched an immediate investigation into the murder and within hours had identified and arrested three suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanjay Patel, Vikas Gupta, and Rohan Singh – all residents of nearby areas.
"Our teams worked round the clock and we have successfully apprehended three suspects in connection with this brutal murder," said Senior Superintendent of Police, Palamu district. "The investigation suggests the murder was linked to a property dispute that had been ongoing for several months."
Growing Concerns Over Property-Related Violence
This incident has highlighted the increasing trend of violence in property disputes across Jharkhand. Local residents have expressed concern about the deteriorating law and order situation, particularly in real estate transactions.
"When such brazen killings can happen in broad daylight, it creates a sense of insecurity among all business owners and property dealers," said a local business association representative.
The police have assured the public that they are taking the matter seriously and are investigating all possible angles, including business rivalries and personal enmities. Additional security has been deployed in the area to prevent any further incidents.
