Incident and Trial Proceedings

According to public prosecutor Laxman Rai, the incident took place on the night of February 18, 2020, at approximately 10:30 PM. The survivor had gone near a canal on the outskirts of Khurmabad village when the accused allegedly intercepted her. They forcibly took her into a pickup van and sexually assaulted her, leading to the filing of charges.

This decision highlights the importance of a robust legal framework in addressing heinous crimes and providing justice to survivors. The imposition of fines further adds to the punitive measures, aiming to serve as a deterrent.

The case, which spanned six years from the incident to the final verdict, reflects the complexities and challenges in prosecuting such crimes. However, the court's ruling reinforces the commitment to upholding law and order, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.
